The beautiful ache

It’s National Police Week, which means Judiciary Square, and its Fallen Officer Memorial are glorious. I don’t have a particular connection to police officers but I do have a connection to this place and the painful beauty it reverberates in memory, in mourning but in celebration for lives lost too soon. These were the true good guys – you can see all over the faces of those they left behind, who come to remember.

PLEASE to do/not REcyCLe

A bright red sign reading: “PLEASE Turn off Lights when Leaving” greeted me bright and early at my Official Government Office Building when I returned from vacation today. I saw it first in the hallway, then another and another, then one in my office itself.

Keeping it loosey goosey or “what the…?”

My mom and I are off for five days four nights at the spa. The weather is beautiful, I can see the ocean from my bed and be in it in less than 20 seconds and I’ve already taken a class that kicked my booty (literally) and am off to a spa treatment. So I’m NOT COMPLAINING but…

Since our arrival at FLL (ft. lauderdale airport), things have been.. well just a step or two off. Don’t get me wrong, everyone’s nice and friendly and we’re having a great time but…
