35*365 starts today

I came across this fascinating blog/concept today: x365 . The idea, like most great ones, is elegant in its simplicity: write about a person who has touched your life in ways big or small, every day for a year. Because the founder of this idea, Dan Waber, was so inspired on his 40th birthday, he decided to add a further caveat: each day’s description of a person who’d touched his life would be 40 words long.

I am “only” 35, so I’ll be cutting a few words. I’m also not sure I won’t write a few posts a day and then none on a different day, but I’m committed to the concept. So… here goes…. Find my 35*365 here.

mom-a-palooza

I’m off to mom-a-palooza with my maternal grandma and aunt, my mom, my sister, and my baby niece. My poor lucky duck of a brother-in-law gets to come, too.

In honor of mother’s day, today’s momisms is a kinder/gentler momisms. Check it out!

and here’s a sneak preview: Momism of the day comes from Baby E (my niece): Mamamagmagmmamamamamamamamaammamamamama! ma!!

True, more enthusiastic words were never spoken (and nope we don’t care a bit if she also calls her dad ma, and sometimes pronounces ma as “ba” we get the idea – in short, “I love you mom!

Tulips two

SDSingleGirl‘s comment on my first photo post below reminded me that I’d actually been intending to say a bit more about tulips and my love for them. (Thought I’d post again in the spirit of transparency/not editing after the fact, and okay, so I could have an excuse to perfect my photoblogging and share more beautiful tulips with all of you.
