I’m off to mom-a-palooza with my maternal grandma and aunt, my mom, my sister, and my baby niece. My poor lucky duck of a brother-in-law gets to come, too.

True, more enthusiastic words were never spoken (and nope we don’t care a bit if she also calls her dad ma, and sometimes pronounces ma as “ba” we get the idea – in short, “I love you mom!

In The Declining Value Of Redundant News Content On The Web – Publishing 2.0 Scott Karp examines the media Oversatura-plosion-ama that is the Interweb.

Microsoft withdrawing its offer to buy Yahoo is a sufficiently large story to demonstrate the problem of redundant news content on the web. Google News is currently tracking about 2,000 versions of this story. To get a better sense of why it’s a problem to have 2,000 stories about the SAME THING, I’ve reproduced about ten percent of them below — just the headlines and ledes. or are we going on about the wrong things?

For example:

1) Miley Cyrus in the (red satin) sheet(s.) Okay, maybe it’s because I’m not a mom (of a teenage girl), but I don’t get it. Miley poses for an artistic lovely shot by one of the world’s best photographers and it’s a National Crisis.
