Washwords entry:

1.) It is the perfect sized city - enough things to do with just enough overwhelmingness, but most often not too much to get around (usually on foot even).

2) My fellow metro-ers. Sigh. C'mon people, why the clustering?

3) The building museum - I love it. Also, the 3rd of July show on the mall - same show way less crowds. Dang. Why did I tell you that?

4) "Into the blue" part of my "<a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/washwords/sets/72157605258266088/" rel="nofollow">Seasons, as Seen at Dupont Circle Metro"</a> series.

5.) <a href="http://www.gratefuldating.net" rel="nofollow">Grateful Dating</a> - I love this blog, love the concept, believe in it, and well, just love it. There's others too though, so watch this spot. More to come!!!

Erin Carly's entry

    1) one reason why you LOVE DC.
the size - it's a manageable city. in a mile's walk, you can jump four different neighborhoods, and go from quiet residential areas to bustling downtown. i grew up near New York City, and there, you're just another ant in the crowd among buildings so high, some blocks never see sunlight. here, there are open spaces with trees and buildings that don't dwarf you to the point of dissapearing. it's more human-sized . . . and if you want to get away from it all and hide in the country, it's less than an hour away.

    2) one thing you hate/snark/whine/mock about DC (can't think of any? me either, try virginia)
people who hate on Virginia! i've lived there for the last two years in many different neighborhoods, and it's just lovely. . . i wouldn't want to live anywhere else. so suck it up and quit your whining about the state you've only been to go to the mall!

    3) A DC favorite or secret (can be a restaurant, a deal, a park, an intersection, you name it)
Bilbo Baggins in Alexandria. we've all laughed at the name. just go there, and take a look at the menu. you'll be happy you made the trip down to Old Town.

    4) your favorite DC photo (own the rights please! that means you took it)
oh goodness, i've taken so many photos.
if i had to pick just one (or a few, it'd be these: #1 #2 #3 #4 (just kidding about that last one.)

    5) one DC blogger we might not know about.
this guy - http://homelessjoblesshungryndc.blogspot.com/ if i ever happen across him on the street, i'll be sure to buy him dinner.

    thanks!

1) one reason why I LOVE DC: Because it's so much more happenin' than, say, Central PA.

2) one thing you hate/snark/whine/mock about DC: Weekends on the Beltway or Metro. Amateurs, get out of the way, please, and let the experts through.

3) A DC favorite or secret: I have always loved The Tabard Inn on N Street, with the little British pub and all.

4) your favorite DC photo (own the rights please! that means you took it)

I'd have to dig for one, can I still be in the contest please?

5) one DC blogger we might not know about.

How about the fine ladies over at DC Metro Moms?
