Haiku Friday: Relief
Written by washwords on June 5, 2009 – 3:39 pm“full is not heavy”
presentation done
head opening, body melts
i heave relief. deep.
mind hits heart hits core
comfort,done tires, too, but
full is not heavy
Buddhist class teaches
anger is your creation
yours to stop then, too
You can’t purify
old hurts that pull from merit
’til you stop the now.
baby steps can be
quite rocky, and yet they are
the most important

Haiku Friday: Riff on swine flu
Written by washwords on May 8, 2009 – 10:10 amI’m all knotted up
Disastrous case of twine flu
The cure: a good yarn
My pal’s back is hurt
Perhaps she has the spine flu
The cure: lay supine
Niece “bucket” age two
no shocker has caught “mine flu”
other tykes: adieu!
Complainin’ and mopey
I have the whine flu fer shure
Cure? methinks WINE flues!
I could go all day but lemme hear yours! leave a comment below
Debate? No debate?
Candidates love and love not
Lets get it started.
Metro whistlers, SHHHH!
Sometimes I wake up grumpy,
sometimes let him sleep
“solved.” without mccain.
it’s raining in washington
since obama left
snowdrifts of paper
email, voice-mail, lists to do
how to shovel out
and yet, even here,
even now, with so much flux
there is peace. in love.

Haiku Friday: Spring and Sprung
Written by washwords on April 10, 2009 – 9:02 amPeeking yellow, red
Tulips break the cold, dark, earth
Yet, still I shiver
Tired of winter
sniffling frozen noses
Grey, slow, roll of cloud
Yesterday, one ray
pierced straight through concrete path
I caught a glimpse: spring.
