Haiku Friday: Sick. And Tired.

Written by User Imagewashwords (I also say) on September 26, 2008 – 2:40 pm

Haiku Friday

Cough cough cough cough cough.
Coughity cough cough, cough cough.
Cough cough cough. COUGH COUGH!

Debate? No debate?
Candidates love and love not
Lets get it started.

Metro whistlers, SHHHH!
Sometimes I wake up grumpy,
sometimes let him sleep

“solved.” without mccain.
it’s raining in washington
since obama left

snowdrifts of paper
email, voice-mail, lists to do
how to shovel out

and yet, even here,
even now, with so much flux
there is peace. in love.

Haiku Friday: The Campaign Edition

Written by User Imagewashwords (I also say) on August 29, 2008 – 10:33 am

Haiku Friday

Disclaimer: These are non-partisan haikus, just observations of things I saw at the conventions

Campaign conventions
better than olympics, yes?
or is that just me?

VP announcement
on its way, remember folks
all “girls” not the same

Let the sunshine in
“Believe me, if I were prez
things would be different”

I want a prez for
Barney Smith not Smith Barney
wow. Barney seems nice

Wolf Blitzer, really?
“Heh, I used to play keyboard.”
click, ahh, P.B.S.

2) I fear conflict and delivering bad news. How can I tell anyone they didn’t win?

3) Despite my snarky, grumpy, vitriolic side (grr), I genuinely do believe and see the good in everyone /everything. Awww. Really, I loved loved loved EVERY entry I got.

For these and other reasons, while the contest was FUN FUN FUN, I should have realized picking a winner would be… challenging, or as we say at my place of work, a Learning Opportunity.

Anywho, that coupled with travel and work demanding I do work has contributed to my delay in posting results. Also, I’m a giant slacker/ champion excuse-maker.

But I love you people, my loyal ‘logger friends, so…. I pushed past these Issues and am ready to announce The Winner of Washwords First Blogger Contest.

And the Winner is….
